The Game Of Life and How To WIN It!

What do I mean and how can I explain, ‘winning the game of life’?

First of all I want to emphasize that life is not a struggle; you’re not born to fight but you are born to a task – one that, if you manage it well, gives you tremendous joy in life. This is even when you suffer sorrows to varying degrees, because that’s a part of life. We’re all born to eventually die, and that’s what makes understanding life the great challenge it is.

You, me and all the other people who live our lives here on Earth, have a task. It’s a task that was tailor-made for each one of us when we were born. No one -and I want to stress - no one - was born without a task and without a mission in life. Some find out about it early on, others will in the course of life, but most don’t know about it, and they don’t even try to find out. Whatever it is - we call this "the meaning of life!"

What does winning mean to me?
First, for me it doesn’t count to defeat anyone else because winning is a very personal thing. Often we define winning just in terms of beating someone or being better than someone, and it’s not important whether we’re talking about sport and the like, you win only if you’ve not been defeated! But it’s not the norm in life that everyone is competing in some form of sport, rather it’s an exception.

The biggest challenge that we all have as human beings is LIFE and all the opportunities it has in store for us! If you want to take up a challenge, then this is the "competition" – so take up the challenge of life and become a winner in it.

And how do you know that you’re a winner?
Well, it’s when you know in your heart what you want to do in life, rather than what anyone else thinks you should do! This is, in other words, your task - your mission in life. This won’t, however, be enough to be the real winner. There are some other important things that need to be in place to complete it.

We human beings are living on this planet to do something together, otherwise we wouldn’t be here! It’s not a coincidence or by accident that you and I and everyone else exists. We can’t explain and understand our existence with just our six senses. There are many who think that we can and they try in a practical way to explain it. The problem is, put simply, it’s based on our human limitations of "only" five senses!

It’s my absolute conviction that all humans are connected in one way or another, and that we all belong together. This means that we’re all dependent on each other and to be able to have it all and be able to feel like a winner in life, we must help each other. Yes, we must simply be good human beings.
Are you a good human being? Then you are, in my world, a "GREAT HUMAN" and you’ve come a long way on your road to becoming a winner in the game of life.

I usually say: "You can easily see if a person is a "great person"; you see it in how they treat children, the elderly, people with physical and learning disabilities etc. They deal with all of these people with as much dignity as they deal with all other people.

If you’re not kind to other people and treat them well you're not, and you never will be, a winner in life - even if you’ve found your mission in life and enjoy it. (And if you're not happy with what you believe is your task, then it isn’t yours).

There’s another important element, and it’s the ability to forgive! To forgive is a very selfish act, but not egotistical in the sense that it’s harming anyone else. It’s an action that frees you from a lot of negative and destructive thoughts that occupy far too much of your attention and detract from what’s really important in life. Forgive and move on, it’s the only way to obtain peace and to be able to focus on what’s really important for you!

A winner in the game of life is also a person who feels a tremendous gratitude for what he or she has done and what they got out of it. They use it to help others to achieve the same thing. They are, in other words, generous with their success and show great humility. I could sum up being a winner in life's game with the following points:

The fact that:

  • you’ve found your mission in life and are acting upon it.
  • you have control over your own life.
  • you have a good attitude.
  • you have peace of mind.
  • you know security.
  • you have belief in the future.
  • you’re loved, and you’re a good friend.
  • you’re needed, and you’re important to something.
  • you can feel empathy and act upon it.
  • you always, in all situations, do your very best.
  • you’re always honest both to yourself and to others.
  • you don’t always take yourself seriously.

To become a winner in life's game is a process that, for most of us, is a life-long journey. Significant and substantial things are not built quickly, because then they aren’t significant and substantial!

Remember what I usually say; ‘Life isn’t a sprint, it's a marathon’ and that ‘It’s not only the goal in itself that’s important - the journey is probably at least as important and fruitful.’

Should you decide to start the process of becoming a winner in life, you've started something that doesn’t run out until your life is no longer here on Earth.

I started my journey about 6 years ago and it has now reached the point where I’m 100% sure what I want to do in life. That’s my mission. I want to help people to become winners in life's game, and don’t forget what I said. To be a winner in life is a very personal feeling, but it’s always with the same starting point I’ve already described.

My task in life is to be someone who makes a difference in peoples lives by helping them to become winners in life's game, and to help organisations to be winners in the ‘marketing game’

One important thing here is that when I help organizations, etc, it’s exactly the same principle as helping people. No organization works unless the person running it has mapped out a clear vision about becoming a winner in life's game.

There’s nothing that can measure itself against becoming a winner in the game of life - or at least being on the road to it. Neither money nor other benefits are in the same arena! However, I do want to alert you to an important point in this. You may very well have a financial boost as a bonus by-product of becoming a winner in life's game. Similarly, you can become a winner in sport and anything else, thanks to the fact that you’re a winner in the game of life.
