I believe that many of you are aware of the great ‘refugee problem’ between the USA and Mexico which involves many Mexicans trying to cross the border to get into the USA.
Some days ago I read in our local newspaper about this matter, and it seems that smuggling people illegally into the USA from Mexico has become a whole industry. It’s not only smuggling them either – they also kidnap many of them and demand money from their relatives who already live in the USA. This kind of greed and cruelty so often terribly affects many of us!
Below is a quote from one of the people kidnapped:
“When the kidnappers took us into the house they said: “Welcome to hell – in here we will cut of your throat!” They killed five of us in front of our eyes. I was forced to call my family in the USA and ask them to send the ransom being asked. One of our group managed to escape and went to the police. They brought him back to the kidnappers who cut off one hand to teach him a lesson so he didn’t try anything like this again. I heard the policeman say to the kidnappers – if you have any more trouble just call us! When the guards saw a woman they wanted they just raped her, on the floor in front of all of us. When one of the group said that he didn´t have any relatives in the USA, they threw him out into the garden where there were big dogs that hadn’t eaten for many days! Then we who were left got food!”
Unfortunately this is the truth!

Now that the vacation period is more or less finished in most of the countries in Europe and America, many people go into a depression. Of course it’s nice to have a vacation but please don’t forget that working is the normal situation for the majority of us.
From my experience I see it like this; it’s not a disaster to start working again. Just think how many people don’t have jobs but it’s their greatest wish to have one. See the positive in having something of value to do that gives your life meaning.
If your work doesn’t give you any value and you feel bored and find it agony to go to, then CHANGE your work, profession or employer. Why waste such a big part of your waking time doing something that gives you absolutely no value and joy?
Wake up! Ensure that for the rest of your professional life you’re doing something that IS fulfilling and rewarding.
Do you know that it’s NEVER too late to change your work, your profession or your employer? It’s only how you think that matters and if you think with a positive attitude it will be much easier for you. NOW is the right time to act! If not now then when else will it be?
Now many of you might wonder how you can create a better attitude. My tip is to go back and read all my previous texts (up to now there are around. 300 of them.) Many of them contain help in starting this process.

I’ve often wondered why we don’t greet each other, I mean, what the exact reason is. People we meet – maybe while out walking, on the staircase, at the shop or whatever – my over-riding feeling is that when you meet a person – eye to eye – even if the person looks away, greet them.
Greeting everybody you meet is one of the most natural things there is, at least it should have been. Of course there are situations when it’s practically impossible; an example is that when I’m walking around the city this situation makes it hard if not impossible, to greet everybody.
In my view of the world we are all co-operators in life; we’re put here to co-operate so as to make life as good as possible for all of us. Consider this. We’re all people in a community that’s called ‘the world’ or if you prefer it ‘your community’. How can we all be happy? We need to co-operate and to make the best of where we are.
So greet everyone you meet as they are your fellow partners in life. Even if you don’t agree with this, at least try it because I can assure you that you will feel great!

Unfortunately I’m forced to go back to the issue of swine flu vaccinations; most of you have probably put it to the back of your mind (which should have been the best place for it!)
If you read my texts on a regular basis you’ll know that a year ago I wrote about how wrong I thought it was to inject not-very-well-tested material into your body. With a good attitude, why should we get “protected” against something that isn’t any worse than most of the previous strains of flu? Who is behind it and what is the hidden agenda? Can it be the poor drug industry that has a problem making enough money – or is it somebody that wants to get inside us at any cost?
A few days ago it emerged that there have been several people – mainly children – who have developed a very unusual disease. It’s a neurological disease that makes your muscles extremely relaxed and you can suddenly fall asleep. They’ve now discovered that it seems to be caused by the flu vaccine (are you surprised? I’m not!). In my view this is probably only the top of the iceberg; we don’t know how many problems the vaccine has caused because we haven’t got all the information – and we probably will never ever get it. Now think how much this vaccination has cost and what we could have used it for.
I made my choice not to have it immediately everyone in Sweden was offered the injection, although I’m still happy that approximately 70% of the Swedish population got it -not once, but twice! My wife Tina also refused it and in telling you this, I should also say this was in spite of the fact that we’d booked a journey to India, on our own, without any travel agency involved.
Why was there such massive marketing and strong recommendations to get this crap injected into our bodies? Don’t forget that so many people in the western world have been injected and it can’t now be undone! I wonder if there are people who are happy about this and why?

I never cease to be surprised about peoples’ short term thinking and acting! For instance, in a government election if people are asked who they’re going to vote for and then get the follow-up question; “Why?” the answer will be close to one hundred percent: “Because it’s best for me!”
I believe very strongly that this is absolutely the worst way of thinking. If voting that way really will get the best for you (and like so much else this is a very egotistic way of thinking) then why not vote for what´s best for me too? If you vote for the best solution for the whole country, in the long term it will also be the best for you. Your situation right now may be quite different within a year or even a few months time. For example, today when voting you might be unemployed but in a few months you might acquire a great new job!
Stop voting in the short time for egotistic benefits which will never, ever, achieve anything for anyone – including for you. It’s the long term that really counts and getting benefits for many people. Don’t you think it’s better to have a good life in the longer term than in the short term?
Egotistic, short term thinking is common for so much more than an election. Are you one of those people who doesn’t see any further than their nose?

I’m sitting here writing this text and feel so satisfied and privileged. All day long I do what I love – in fact you could say that my work is my hobby!
I decided to leave my work as Managing Director to listen to my dreams instead, and it was absolutely the best thing I’ve ever done. In fact my dreams had been there in front of me for a while, calling me to start my own business.
Of course, in a way it was like gambling. I had a good income from my work and I knew exactly what it would be. I had no idea what income I might get from running my own business – but that didn’t stop me – it was my mission. Following that decision I started working for myself in the same line of business I had just been employed in since I felt secure in my knowledge about it. The worst thing about the start-up was that it was just at the beginning of the last deep recession in 1992, but I had fire in my belly and the knowledge needed to do it, so it actually went quite well and the business started to grow.
By around 2004 my dream had grown in a direction I hadn’t anticipated in 1992. I thought, “Why not help others in their search for satisfaction and development too?” I let this thought grow strong inside me for a while and realized that I had the experience required to do it. I had formal education as well as experience, I’d read tons of books, I’d listened to lots of CD´s, but the main factor was a series of educational courses in the USA in the fields of advanced leadership and personal development.
I started my next business within this field (I called it ‘Offerlind Mastery’) and handed over the maintenance of my first company ‘M.O Marketing’ to the employees. I was now starting to build exactly in line with my dreams. In this business I was not forced to be at a specific place of work at a specific time and I helped people to reach their dreams as well as assisting organizations to develop.
I will not go more deeply into the history, but the outcome from this story is:
Today my work is my hobby. I have the freedom to work wherever suits me best at the time – it might be under an umbrella at the beach, in the garden or elsewhere.
Most of all – I have the freedom to control my day and my life.
Of course it has been a journey to get here, but with passion, endurance and a craving for freedom, it has been worth all the effort involved in achieving it. Remember – you can’t get something for nothing.
The time is 11.30am and I feel like going for a jog, would you like to join me?

When you’ve decided to do something extraordinary it requires an extraordinary amount of effort to achieve it. Just wandering around and hoping that the dream will just ‘pop up’ will leave you very disappointed. The more you want to achieve – the more effort you will need to put in..
Every time you choose the easy way without any challenges, it might be that you only challenge the weak side of you which absolutely does NOT want to have those great challenges which require this extra effort.
Often it’s some kind of setback or resistance that tries – and succeeds – to stop you.
Everything has a price to be paid; it might be needing to do something extra or perhaps having to overcome one or more obstacles. As I said before, the greater the things you want to achieve – the greater the effort that required and the resistance you have to overcome.
So many people give up just as they’ve come one through an obstacle and another one occurs. What they’ve missed is recognizing that all their setbacks and resistances and obstacles have made them stronger than before. Because of this I strongly recommend you don’t give up when the next setback arrives because now – even if you’re not quite aware of it – you’re stronger and therefore more able to conquer it and achieve you goal and dreams.

I’ve heard it said many times throughout my career within personal development, that a winner (or an optimist) sees possibilities in all problems whereas a loser (or a pessimist) sees problems in all possibilities. What a great description from real life!
My definition of a problem is when something has happened and now you need to resolve it. When a so-called problem occurs you can easily take control of the outcome yourself. If you start to think how to solve it and how to react in order to get the best outcome, you’re in the solution stage. If you blame others, circumstances and things outside of your control (a horrible thought) then you are absolutely not in the solving stage.
I will end with a story that I have written about in some other texts; there have been about three hundred texts before this one.
It was in the early thirties when two sales people who sold shoes decided they wanted to expand their businesses into Africa. Both visited Africa where they immediately set about finding costumers and each went their own way. Within a few days both of them sent a telegram back home to their offices.
- The first person wrote: Please cancel all shipments of shoes as there is no market for shoes here, nobody is wearing them!
- The second person wrote: Triple the amount of shoes in the shipment; there is a huge market here as nobody is wearing them!
How would you think and react in this situation?

Finally! Some days ago I read in our local newspaper about some research undertaken about forgiving. It was in fact a whole page, and while I won’t go into it in detail I will give you the conclusions. Scientists have discovered that the principle of forgiving and asking forgiveness is positive for both your physical and your mental health.
For many years, as well as writing about I’ve also made speeches and held seminars about, the importance of forgiving. To me, to forgive is an absolutely selfish act! If you don’t forgive the wrong that’s been done to you, you’ll remain in the bad mood which it causes and you won’t be able to release the pain. You will never be able to move on in your life with joy and peace of mind, unless you get rid of what destroys your emotional life.
Forgive and move on in life; it might seem hard in the beginning, but I promise you that in the long term the joy of what you gain is much greater than if you continue to live with the bitterness and even – with revenge in mind.

The Football World Cup has been on for a while now, and we’ve seen a mix of very good performances and also many bad ones.
Something that does strike me is that many of the players and managers seem to have a very poor attitude towards the game, as evidenced by all the ‘feigning’ and cheating in order to gain benefit in their opponents half. Some examples are pretending they’ve been hit in the face when in fact they haven’t been hit on the body at all. Also all ‘falling’ inside the goal area.
I think it’s a shame to have to watch these extremely over-paid, so-called full blooded professionals, acting like first class prima-donnas who are missing their mothers out there on the pitch, and in the ‘hard situations’ they’re exposed to they exhibit their lack of a good attitude.
Another thing I also find distressing is all this whining at the referees as soon as a judgment is given against them. How can these professionals do it so much they end up being shown a yellow card?
My simple answer to all these questions is that they all lack a good attitude. In other words, they’re selfish and are only thinking of themselves – not about the good of their team. If I were the coach or manager of such a team I would absolutely not accept these behaviors. NO player would be even close to having a place in my team with the kind of attitude that involves putting unnecessary energy into whining, shamming or cheating.
I know that many by now, many people will claim that under those circumstances it would be impossible to get a winning team together. How can they know? If you look at the happenings on the pitch at this World Cup, I would say that in the long term, no-one is rewarded if they are cheating.
